Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians! I hope you enjoyed the long weekend.
Since we couldn’t be with family eating a turkey feast this past weekend, we decided to have a little Thanksgiving adventureof our own. We rented a car, and set off for the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains, in hopes of finding home-cooked meals, gorgeous Fall colours, and some fresh air. Although the road conditions were less than stellar (actually, the worst driving conditions we’ve ever encountered), we put our little city car to the test and verged on. The trip ended up being one of the highlights of our entire time travelling thus far. Who knew the Ukrainian countryside could be so charming!
Here’s a few of my favourite things from our road trip long weekend:
Arriving in Bukovel, and first spotting these charming ski chalets.
Morning mountain view from our room’s private balcony.
This pink hand-dyed sheepskin rug I bought off an old Babushka is everything.
Stopping to watch the sunset over a ridge.
Taking the ski lift up to the summit for a hike.
Arriving home and heading straight to our favourite restaurant (appropriately name ‘Meat’), followed by french macarons.
