Monday’s Mood

We had a wonderful weekend exploring our new city. I kicked off the weekend with an Ukrainian language lesson over a pint, and am looking forward to improving my fluency. Saturday was spent walking around the entire city centre, discovering new things and eating  American-owned Tex-Mex BBQ. Considering we hadn’t had BBQ in months, and summer is prime grilling season, we felt right at home. Sunday we decided to put on our big boy pants and brave the public transit system  for the first time to venture out in the ‘burbs to Lviv’s only mall. Not typically one for malls (I much prefer wandering down shopping boulevards), I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of goods there. Not to mention the Varenyky mall food was divine. Here are a few of my favourite things from the past few days:

I could marvel at Yurashky shop’s cookies for hours, which are painstakingly painted by hand.Gingerbread House

Loving this snack lately that tastes like the most decadent dessert: greek yogurt + vanilla whey + butter vanilla extract, topped with fresh raspberries + raw cashews + drizzle of local honey.Snacktime

Climbing hundreds of stairs in City Hall was so worth it for this view.Rynok Square LVIV
