Although plaid has always been almost my entire uniform while up at the cottage, the Canadian classic is back, and not just up hiding in the woods anymore. I love the idea of incorporating a tartan print not only in your wardrobe, but in subtle touches throughout the home and through accessories.
I’m actually very particular about my plaid patterns. I only like certain colour combinations, either going for a modern twist on a classic tartan, or sticking to traditional Mackay and Robertson prints. This shirt is the print I’ve been searching for. I love the clean and crisp white background with the contemporary colour scheme.
2. Tartan Print Mugs, set of 4 -$58.00
Serving hot chocolate with a mound of marshmallows would be perfect in any one of these four gorgeous mugs.
3. SS Print Shop Tartan Deer Print –now on sale
This print is considered part of the holiday collection, but my obsession for anything deer will guarantee it is displayed all year long.
4. Zara Checked Coat– now on sale
I’ve been lusting over this coat ever since it came out. I didn’t know how much wear I’d get out of it, since it isn’t exactly the neutral coat I tend to gravitate towards. However, now that it is on sale I am definitely snatching it up and will pull it on when my outfit needs some life.
These hand painted-looking iphone cases are the only plaid patterns I’d let near my iphone, as I find traditional tartans to look cheap on any electronic cases I’ve come across.
6. Tartan Throw Blanket –now on sale for $39.95
I firmly believe that any home, whether a cozy cabin, or an urban condo, can benefit from the addition of a plaid patterened throw, especially when paired with a fur blanket alongside of it.
7. Tartan Pantsuit
This will be my new go-to power suit. I already have the pants, and originally didn’t see the need to get the blazer. Seeing the suit put together has since changed my mind.
I didn’t think my love of plaid could get any better. I was wrong. Gold Plaid?!
