Chunky Cable Knit Vest in West Village

I have a love/hate relationship with chunky cable knit sweaters.

As Fall is in full swing (and Winter if you’re in Canada!), women are walking around looking incredibly chic in cozy knit sweaters. While a good chunky knit always catches my eye folded on a store display’s shelf, I am constantly disappointed every time I try them on. They are always boxy and unflattering on me – an issue I’ve also faced with collared dress shirts that I wrote about here.

When I saw this chunky cable knit vest handing on a rack, I immediately knew it would be different than all the others I’ve disappointingly tried on. Firstly, being sleeveless, I didn’t get the thick fabric accentuating my muscular arms, and I loved that I could layer another thinner long sleeve shirt or turtleneck underneath. The vest also had a ribbon tie at the back that would cinch in the waist and accentuate curves.

Paired with leather leggings, suede booties, a felt beret and a camel moto jacket, I headed to brunch in NYC’s West Village feeling every bit Fall cozy chic.
