Catania, Sicily

Oh, Catania.

You really are not my favourite city I’ve been to, but you do happen to be the central starting point for excursions in Southern Sicily.
If you do happen to find yourself in this rough-around-the-edges city, don’t fret (like I did). Fortunately, there are a couple of gems hiding amongst the rough lava-covered, graffiti-topped, dirty fabric of the city.

You can view my map of what to see and do here:

Here’s what to see, do, and eat:

Piazza Duomo

Walk the main shopping boulevard, Via Etna

Catania Via Etna

Wander off of Via Etna into Giardino Bellini Park.

Dolci di Nonna Pasticceria‘s Cannolini Di Ricotta

Dolci di Nonna's Pasticceria Catania

To eat eye level with a cathedral: Collegelate, and for the best pizza + terrace: Agora Hostel.

Eat Catania

Il Principe Hotel

Budget accommodation: Bad B&B

BAD Catania

Again, you can find everything mapped out here.
